Scrub Theatre Lead – Private Hospital, Kingston upon Thames
Salary: Up to £56,000 per annum
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

The Opportunity
A leading private hospital in Kingston upon Thames is seeking an experienced Scrub Theatre Lead to oversee day‑to‑day theatre activity across a range of surgical specialities. This senior, hands‑on role suits a confident scrub practitioner ready to step into leadership or an established lead looking for a supportive, well‑resourced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the scrub team across mixed speciality theatres, including orthopaedics, general surgery, ENT, gynaecology, and ophthalmics.
- Act as the clinical expert within the scrub team, ensuring safe, high‑quality perioperative care.
- Support the Theatre Manager with rota planning, training, audits, and service development.
- Maintain strong communication with surgeons, anaesthetists, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Drive best practice, compliance, and continuous improvement within the theatre suite.
Candidate Requirements
- Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC) with substantial scrub experience.
- Proven leadership skills or readiness to step into a lead role.
- Strong understanding of theatre standards, governance, and patient safety.
- Ability to mentor, motivate, and support a high‑performing team.
- Flexible, organised, and confident working across multiple specialities.
