Therapist – Children’s Residential Services (Part-Time)
Location: Home-based with regular travel to children’s residential services
Hours: 3 days per week (Part-Time)
Salary: Up to £38,000 pro rata
Travel: Mileage expenses reimbursed
About the Role We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Therapist to support children and young people within our residential services. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of young people with a range of emotional, behavioural, and therapeutic needs.
The role is primarily home-based, with regular travel to residential homes across the region to provide therapeutic support, assessments, interventions, and guidance to care teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver therapeutic interventions to children and young people in residential care.
- Undertake assessments and formulate therapeutic support plans.
- Work collaboratively with residential staff, families, and external professionals.
- Provide consultation, advice, and support to care teams.
- Maintain accurate and professional records in line with regulatory and professional standards.
- Contribute to positive outcomes and emotional wellbeing for children and young people.
Essential Requirements
- Registration with UKCP, HCPC, or BACP.
- Experience working with children and young people in residential, therapeutic, educational, or similar settings.
- Proven experience supporting children with a range of complex emotional, behavioural, and mental health needs.
- Strong communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Willingness to travel to services, with journeys typically ranging from 60–90 minutes.
