Are you a qualified Occupational Therapist looking for a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people in a specialist education setting?

We are recruiting an experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) to join a supportive multidisciplinary team within a specialist school in Hambridge.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an HCPC registered Occupational Therapist to work directly with children and young people with a range of SEND, developmental needs, learning disabilities, autism and sensory processing differences, helping them develop greater independence and achieve their potential both in and outside the classroom.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide high-quality assessment, intervention and therapeutic support tailored to the individual needs of pupils.
You will work closely with teachers, support staff, families and other professionals to ensure occupational therapy is embedded within the wider learning and care environment.

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist who is keen to make a genuine difference to the lives of children and young people.
You will ideally have:

  • A recognised degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Experience working with children and young people, ideally within SEND, education, specialist schools or similar settings.
  • Strong assessment, communication and report-writing skills.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to an MDT.
  • A person-centred, practical and solution-focused approach.

Experience or knowledge of the following would be desirable:

  • Sensory integration / sensory processing approaches.
  • Autism and ADHD.
  • Learning disabilities and complex needs.
  • Complex communication needs.
  • Emotional regulation and functional independence.
  • Previous experience working within a school or specialist educational setting.
