Are you a Speech and Language Therapist looking for a rewarding part-time opportunity working with children and young people with complex needs?

We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist education setting in West Kent for a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join an experienced multidisciplinary clinical team on a 12-month maternity cover contract.

Working 3 days per week, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to provide specialist assessment, intervention and support to children and young people with a range of communication needs, SEND, neurodevelopmental conditions and complex needs.

As a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team alongside professionals including Psychologists, Occupational Therapists and other therapists.

You will provide high-quality Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention, developing individualised programmes that support communication, engagement and positive outcomes for children and young people.

The role will involve working closely with education and care staff, parents/carers and external professionals to ensure a joined-up and therapeutic approach.

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist / Specialist Speech and Language Therapist who is passionate about supporting children and young people with complex communication needs.
You will ideally have:

• A recognised Speech and Language Therapy qualification.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Experience working with children and young people.
• Experience within SEND, specialist education, neurodevelopmental or complex needs settings.
• Strong assessment, report-writing and clinical reasoning skills.
• Experience developing and delivering individualised Speech and Language Therapy interventions.
• Excellent communication and multidisciplinary working skills.
• The ability to adapt your approach to meet the individual needs of each child or young person.
• A child-centred, creative and flexible approach to therapy.

Experience of working with autism, developmental trauma, neurodevelopmental conditions, complex communication needs or challenging behaviour would be advantageous.
