Kent
£33,000 – £40,000 per annum
Up to £52,000 – £64,000 per annum with evening, night and weekend enhancements
Full-time and part-time hours available
Evenings, nights and weekends

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Anaesthetic Practitioner to join a leading private hospital, working as part of a highly skilled Operating Theatre and Anaesthetics team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Anaesthetic Practitioner, Theatre Practitioner, Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) or Registered Nurse with anaesthetic experience looking for a permanent role within a professional and supportive private hospital environment.

The role offers full-time and part-time hours, with a variety of evening, night and weekend shifts available. Enhanced rates for unsocial hours mean there is an excellent opportunity to increase your annual earnings, with enhanced earnings of up to £52,000 – £64,000 per annum.

As an Anaesthetic Practitioner, you will:

  • Provide high-quality clinical care throughout the anaesthetic phase of the surgical pathway
  • Work alongside Consultant Anaesthetists, Anaesthetic Practitioners, Operating Department Practitioners, Theatre Nurses and wider theatre teams
  • Prepare and check the anaesthetic room, equipment, drugs and clinical environment prior to procedures
  • Assist the anaesthetist throughout the induction, maintenance and emergence from anaesthesia
  • Ensure all anaesthetic equipment and monitoring equipment is prepared, checked and ready for use
  • Maintain high standards of patient safety, infection prevention and clinical governance
  • Support patients before, during and following surgical procedures
  • Monitor patients and communicate effectively with the wider multidisciplinary team
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of clinical documentation and patient records
  • Follow hospital policies, procedures and professional standards at all times
  • Contribute to a positive patient experience within the private hospital and operating theatre environment
  • Support the wider theatre team where required, including scrub, circulating and recovery functions, depending on experience and training

We are looking for an experienced Anaesthetic Practitioner who is confident working within an operating theatre / anaesthetics environment and is committed to delivering excellent standards of patient care.
You will ideally have:

  • Experience working as an Anaesthetic Practitioner, Theatre Practitioner, ODP or Anaesthetic Nurse
  • Relevant professional qualification and registration, such as HCPC or NMC registration
  • Previous experience within anaesthetics, operating theatres or perioperative care
  • Strong knowledge of anaesthetic procedures, equipment and patient safety
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A professional, calm and patient-focused approach
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary theatre team
  • A commitment to maintaining high clinical and professional standards
  • Flexibility to work evening, night and weekend shifts
